In Sunbridge’s eyes
GoodWe came to Australia early — on the ground here since around 2012, when a Chinese inverter brand with a Melbourne office was still a rarity. For years it was the quiet value pick: solid hybrid inverters and Lynx Home batteries that installers trusted but few shouted about. The ESA all-in-one changed the conversation — a genuinely modern, integrated battery system that put GoodWe squarely in the flagship fight.

GoodWe ESA Series — All-in-One Home Battery Storage

GoodWe ESA Series Home Battery · with Sunbridge
Why the ESA Series Home Battery fits your home
A factory pre-wired all-in-one inverter and LFP battery, scalable to 108 kWh across all three phases for larger households.
Because the inverter and battery are integrated rather than bolted together from separate brands, installation is faster with fewer points of failure.
Backup switchover under 4 ms keeps essential and whole-home loads running through an outage.
An AI-driven EMS shifts usage to the cheapest tariff periods, and the SolarGo app shows generation, storage and consumption at a glance.
Designed, installed & backed by Sunbridge
The detail
Specifications are based on the GoodWe ESA Series 5–30 kW three-phase datasheet. Exact figures depend on the chosen configuration and battery modules; Sunbridge will confirm the right setup and final specifications for your home.
A closer look

A battery only saves money based on when it charges and discharges. The ESA reads tomorrow’s forecast, your usage pattern and your tariff, then plans the day automatically — soak up solar before a cloudy afternoon, hold charge for the 4–9 pm peak. The 30% is GoodWe’s figure for what that scheduling adds over a battery that just charges whenever the sun is out.

A typical Australian home uses 8–12 kWh between sunset and sunrise, so around 10 kWh covers most households’ evenings. The ESA stacks 5–9 kWh modules up to 108 kWh, and you can add modules — even different sizes — to an existing stack years later when an EV or a heat pump arrives.

C-rate is how fast a battery moves energy relative to its size. At 1C a 10 kWh battery takes in or pushes out 10 kW; many home batteries are 0.5C and take twice as long. It matters on short winter days, and when the oven, aircon, hot water and EV charger all come on at once.

30 dB is about a quiet library; a domestic fridge runs at 40–45 dB, so the unit can go on the wall that suits your switchboard rather than the far side of the house. And when the grid drops, the switch to battery takes under four thousandths of a second — computers do not reboot, the modem stays online. A generator takes 10–30 seconds.

Specifications are based on the GoodWe ESA Series 3–10 kW single-phase Australian datasheet and the GoodWe BAT Series warranty. Exact figures depend on the chosen configuration and battery modules; Sunbridge will confirm the right setup for your home.

A battery only saves money based on when it charges and discharges. The ESA reads tomorrow’s forecast, your usage pattern and your tariff, then plans each day automatically — charge on the cheapest rate, hold back for the 4–9 pm peak. GoodWe quotes up to 30% extra saving from that scheduling versus a battery that simply charges whenever the sun is out.

A typical Australian home uses 8–12 kWh between sunset and sunrise, so around 10 kWh covers most households’ evenings. The single-phase ESA stacks LFP modules from 5 kWh to 48 kWh on one inverter, with six inverter sizes from 3 kW to 10 kW — so the system is matched to your home rather than the other way around, and modules can be added later.

C-rate is how fast a battery moves energy relative to its size. At 1C a 10 kWh battery takes in or pushes out 10 kW; many home batteries are 0.5C and take twice as long. It matters on short winter days, and when the oven, aircon, hot water and EV charger all come on at once.

When the grid drops, the switch to battery power takes less than four thousandths of a second — faster than a light globe can visibly dim, so computers do not reboot and the modem stays online. A petrol generator takes 10–30 seconds. With up to 63 A bypass this backs up the whole home, not a few chosen circuits.

FAQ
The ESA Series is modular. You can start with a single 5–9 kWh battery module and expand to 12 modules for a total of 108 kWh, mixing module sizes as your needs grow.
Yes. Its dual-port design with a 63 A internal bypass supports whole-home backup and switches to battery power in under 4 milliseconds during a grid outage, subject to your switchboard and load profile.
It uses LFP (lithium iron phosphate / LiFePO₄), the most thermally stable mainstream lithium chemistry. It is backed by 6-layer safety protection, AFCI 3.0 arc-fault detection and international safety certifications including IEC62619 and IEC63056, plus the Australian RCM mark.
This ESA model is a three-phase system rated 5–30 kW. GoodWe also makes single-phase ESA variants — Sunbridge can recommend the right one for your switchboard and energy needs.
Yes. It supports both on-grid and off-grid parallel operation, and can be configured for whole-home backup or full off-grid use.
