Battery rebates for Brisbane homes
The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program applies in every Queensland postcode. From 1 May 2026 it pays a tiered rate worth roughly $250–270 per usable kWh on the first 14 kWh — as a guide, around $2,500–$2,700 off a typical 10 kWh battery, applied as a discount on your install invoice rather than claimed back later.
Queensland’s state Battery Booster rebate closed to new applications when the federal program launched in 2025, so the federal incentive is now the active battery rebate in Brisbane. As a worked example, a typical 10 kWh battery installed for around $8,000–$10,000 comes down to roughly $5,500–$7,500 after the current federal discount.
Amounts and eligibility change over time and depend on your system and household. Sunbridge confirms what currently applies to your address and handles the rebate paperwork as part of your quote. See our battery rebate guidance for more detail.
