This is a loan, not a rebate or grant. The finance is funded by the NSW Government and delivered by Brighte. You repay what you borrow, subject to the applicable terms.

Eligibility overview

Who is eligible for the NSW Home Energy Saver loan?

Brighte makes the final eligibility and credit decision. As an overview, applicants generally need to meet all of the following conditions.

NSW property

The property must be located in New South Wales.

Eligible owner

You must own the property as an owner-occupier or landlord.

Household income

Total household taxable income must not exceed $210,000 per year.

Residency status

Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents.

Eligible property use

Social housing and short-stay accommodation are not eligible.

Credit assessment

Every application is subject to Brighte assessment and approval.

Home energy upgrades you can finance

Products and installations must meet the program requirements. Eligible categories currently include:

SOLAR

Solar systems

An eligible rooftop solar system designed for the property.

BATT

Solar and batteries

A combined solar and battery system or eligible battery storage.

EV

EV chargers

An eligible home EV charger installed to program requirements.

HOME

Other home upgrades

Eligible heat pumps, reverse-cycle systems, glazing, induction cooking and other listed upgrades.
