About Ocular
Ocular is an Australian EV charging brand with home, commercial and DC fast-charging products. Its IQ Home Solar range brings PV-surplus charging, load management and app control together for Australian households.
Ocular focuses on connected home charging designed for Australian conditions, pairing solar-aware charging modes with built-in current transformers for load control. The IQ Home Solar range is offered in single and three-phase formats with tethered or socket options.
Built-in CT clamps measure surplus solar, so the car can charge from excess generation across dedicated solar charging modes.
Load control keeps charging within your supply limit, which can help avoid a switchboard or supply upgrade.
The Ocular app and OCPP support handle scheduling, energy tracking and real-time solar-versus-grid monitoring.
In Sunbridge’s eyes
Ocular is an Australian EV-charging brand, sold and supported here through EVSE Australia, which has traded since 2016 and launched the Ocular name in 2021 — backing it with local offices, local warranty and installer training. The hardware is built in China but designed around Australian conditions, and the range runs from home wallboxes up to 420 kW DC fast chargers.
single-phase solar homes chasing solar-surplus charging on a budget — three-phase sites need a big surplus (around 4.6 kW) before Solar Only mode triggers.

The detail
Specifications are based on the Ocular IQ Home Solar datasheet (IOCAH15-7T / IOCAH15-22T). Sunbridge confirms the exact model and final configuration for your home.
Sunbridge considers your vehicle, solar system, switchboard, installation conditions and charging habits before recommending a charger or configuration.
Surplus solar can be prioritised to charge your EV.
Built-in load management can help avoid a costly supply upgrade.
Single or three-phase options suit various switchboards.
Scheduling and monitoring are managed from the app.
Final suitability depends on your vehicle, solar system, switchboard, installation conditions and charging habits.
FAQ
It is a connected home EV charger rated 7.2 kW (single-phase) or 22 kW (three-phase), with included current transformers (CTs) for PV-surplus charging and dynamic load control, plus OCPP 1.6J / 2.0.1 smart-charging support and an integrated energy meter.
The included CTs monitor your solar generation and household load, so the charger can prioritise surplus solar for charging and manage the current it draws to stay within your supply capacity — useful for charging from excess PV and avoiding a switchboard upgrade.
Two variants are available: the IOCAH15-7T at 7.2 kW single-phase (one CT included) and the IOCAH15-22T at 22 kW three-phase (three CTs included). Both use a 5 m Type 2 cable at up to 32 A per phase.
You can control it from the mobile app, a physical button or simple plug-and-charge. It supports OCPP 1.6J and 2.0.1 (firmware upgrade required), connects over Ethernet or Wi-Fi, and works with the Ocular Load Controller or OCPP smart profiles.
Yes. It is an IP55-rated wall-mount unit that operates from −30 °C to +50 °C at 5–95% non-condensing humidity, so it suits sheltered outdoor and garage installations.
